Void canines

Void, don't be fooled by the name, there is next to us and is full of unbridled energy and wandering spirits. But some people are able to control it, lend themselves powers and summon beings. It's a rare skill, basically unwelcome, even banned when it comes to some cases, but really desired by some powerfull individuals and organizations.

Spirits most prone to cooperation (although this doesn't mean quite docile and obedient!) usually appear in the form of various kinds of canines. Beginners with small power are limited to summon most submissive small canines, not much different in size from modern canids, wolves, dogs, but it doesn't mean that useless. Their advantage is an incredible blend into surroundings, whether this really sweet spitz can be a beast from another world?
Summoners featuring greater power allow themselves to control larger creatures. In this case, it's not about to remain unnoticed, mostly these creatures are used to the fight and defend.
The most powerfull mages summon half-demonic-looking beings. Skulls, horns, huge claws and fangs, such a view can terrify, basically - the less docile spirit - more demonic look. These are intended primarily to fight, and they can make a real bloodbath with pleasure, but are also suitable for scaring neighbors.:3

The bigger and wilder form, the more energy it needs, every activity, physical as well as emotional consumes energy. They receive some reserve after the summonig, which makes them largely independent of his master, they don't need constant contact and control, although obviously there is psychic connection between master and his "dog". When they begin to deplete stocks, creature simply fall apart, like clay pots. Summoner can give them his own energy at this time, but sometimes it can be dangerous because spirits draws from him with any limits.
Apparently, in the interior of each canines is shard of pure Void, if someone seeing it at the moment of canine "death" can lead to insanity.

Alson there is another, less tangible nature of these creatures, but they are very unstable and requires constant control.
